Long-distance move from Wisconsin to Illinois

Insanely Overpriced!

My client was buying a kitchen second hand and we needed the movers to go to the suburbs of Milwaukee and bring the kitchen cabinets that were removed and all wrapped, and some appliances back to Chicago. These people tried to charge $13,000 for less than 8 hours worth of work for four guys in a truck. I verified that it was not a typo. I also had to chase them to even get the quote to begin with! I'm sorry, but if I honestly believed there was a chance of someone paying me $13,000 for less than a day's work, you better believe getting that quote out would be at the top of my priority list. When I got the ridiculously over-the-top quote I was too shocked to even laugh!

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Miami Beach, FL

Poor packing caused a lot of damage with no proper coverage.

We had contract for packaging and moving across the state. Very disappointing. The company damaged multiple expensive art peaces, which they packed themselves. It took many back and forth to get any response from their insurance company. At the end they offered $33 (which is a joke) for the peaces that worth thousands of dollars.. Wouldn't ever recommend to deal with this movers.

Excellent service.

We couldn't have been happier with our experience with Elite Moving & storage. I requested a quote online and they called me almost immediately. The person who called me was so helpful and efficient with giving me the estimate and explaining the process. The movers arrived as expected, even a little earlier, and they were kind and respectful. They took great care of our stuff and took time to make sure everything was packed well to prevent any damage. Nothing scratched, nothing broken. We got to our new place and they asked us where we would like all the furniture. It was a pleasure moving with them and most importantly, it wasn't stressful at all. I highly suggest using them, you won't be disappointed.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Miami, FL

Don't!

Don't eve try!! It seemed like a good company at the time but it was a big mistake, a lot of the reviews are false, I moved from Chicago to Miami and they seemed really professional when I first talk to them, it was an expensive move, around $4000. They came and took all my stuff, they took forever and they charged me $700 more than the original quote.
Till then, everything was ok, but once I ask them to deliver my stuff in Miami, they were very shady and flaky, they wouldn't give a real time of delivery and finally when they gave me a day, I reserved the elevator in my building, they didn't arrive on time and I lost one day at work, when they finally decided to come, it was only two guys and they left the truck outside because the driver wasn't good enough to drive it in the building service alley, so, all my stuff was left unsupervised every time they would bring a load into the apt. The outcome: two missing boxes (one with one of my paintings) lots of broken items, it seems like all the boxes were subjected to heavy abuse, and Marie Ramos( the person who I was dealing with) was rarely responsive or helpful. They had the nerve to offer me $24 for a $2000 damaged and missing objects, so, please be careful when dealing with this company. I do NOT recommend them.

Perfect move.

This was probably the best move I’ve ever had, despite the weather. I chose Elite Moving based on their positive reviews, and can say they lived up to their rating.

The hard working team of movers lead by Miguel, were fast,
thorough, and polite. They cleared out our house in 3 hours, and offloaded at
our new place the same way. We moved last Saturday and the weather was a real
challenge (heavy rain and snow). They were careful and speedy and nothing was
damaged. The crew worked well together and knew what they all were doing.

Thank you Elite for making our move seamless.

Very Poor.

Do not use this Company! There is no communication..They pick it up quickly and took the money quickly but would not return my calls for delivery schedule. I was quoted 600.00 and payed 812.00.. Pick-up 3/12/13 and was delivered 4/27/13. I do understand a miss quote but 212.00 dollars miss quote is ridiculous. This Company is located at: Elite moving & Storage 9000 Glenoaks Blvd Sun Valley, Ca 91352   ( Donna )    .

Long-distance move from Ohio to Florida

Lowball quote but they will get u in the end.

I received a quote from these people at hat wasn't the lowest or highest but due to the professional of the representative on the phone decided I would use them. I was told the furniture move would take 7 to ten days but I could choose the first date I would be available for delivery. 5 to 7 days for the delivery of my car. They clive you a three-day window for furniture pick up I got a phone call two days before those dates saying my pick up was the following morning. My husband and I stayed up all night bubble wrapping, bagging mattresses stacking boxes on the first floor only to watch these movers retype everything over again with the 24 rolls of dollar store tape they charged $100.00 for they left thrown on the floor half used all over the house. By the time my things were on the truck $400.00 later because my boxes weren't good enough and when you say you have a vacuum cleaner and it uses two boxes instead of one that's an additional $42.00 for each additional box. Two days later they picked up my car so by my calculation it should arrive the same day or a day later than my furniture. Wrong !! 2days later I received a phone call my car was in Florida I was still in Ohio thank goodness my son lived ther but he signed for my car not noticing my rims on my Cameron were beat to hell, then I received a phone call a day ahead of my first delivery date my furniture was ready was ready to be delivered I was still in Ohio, I jumped on a plane (additional expense ) and three hours later was told that the movers couldn't fix their truck through the gates of the apt. Complex. The manager of the building told the movers she had people moving from across the united states and never had they had this problem, she offered to have cars moved etc but the movers continued to say no. The charge was now an additional $700.00 for them to hire a shuttle bus to transfer my furniture, I offered to go get a uhaul they said " if I did they would transfer my things to u haul and it would be my responsibility Yao move everything form it. So I paid them $727.00 ( they kept my change  ) they went down the street rented a $19.99 uhaul truck and transferred my things from there.. The only bout up one of the two beds they took down and I am stilif wading through broken pictures, chipped furniture..Do not use this company they use low ball estimates and get their money on the back end. Shady con artist horrible!

Dishonest Moving Company.

Elite Moving and Storage is a dishonest company that will lure you in with pricing. Originally, the estimated quote was $1998.72 based on an inventory list of items. The inventory list used was a list that 2 other moving companies wrote after visiting the storage unit. However, when the Elite movers arrived to pick up the items they opened the door and said that the cost would be at least double what was quoted. After spending over 2 hours bickering over price with management on the phone we refused to accept the new number because they would never provide a not to exceed quote. Elite Moving and Storage demands a deposit before pick-up and refuse to return the deposit after they change the rules. The signed agreement is only binding to the customer not the company. STAY AWAY FROM ELITE MOVING AND STORAGE. There are a lot of companies out there that are more honest about their pricing.

Long-distance move from Bolingbrook, IL to Pompano Beach, FL

Moved from Chicago IL to Pompano Beach FL.

When the movers arrived I had a ton of glass furniture to be packed up by the movers charging a lot of money per item to pack for me. Spent around 4,000 (total) not including tipping the packers out and after packing the glass wear and moving our furniture into the truck. Started my journey to south Florida the next day and the movers took a total of a week and a half past the contracted date to deliver our things. A total of 3 and a half weeks witch out furniture after arriving. When they arrived they charged me an extra couple hundred for the extra walking distance up to the apartment. And since there was an extra 3 stairs to walk up that they had to walk up it was even more money added to the upcharge. EVEN THOUGH THEY BROKE THE CONTRACT BY BEING A WEEK AN AND A HALF LATE. THEY HAD ME BY THE OO’s. So unless I were to agree to pay them they would not deliver my furniture. I was so desperate to sleep in a real bed I had to bite the additional hundreds of dollars that I had to spend. When they brought up the furniture to set everything up all of my glass furniture was broken, my brand new dresser (never used more than a week) dinged up so bad Salvation Army couldn’t sell It for more than $45. Couple legs of the chairs were broken, thank god that my tv’s weren’t harmed. I wouldn’t event suggest this company to my worst enemy because they do not even deserve the treatment of there own belongings being trashed. I cried for hours after they left. The damage to my furniture was at least 60%. Next time I move I’d rather sell and start over or do it myself cause at least then I wouldn’t have had to take out loans to pay disrespectful criminals to harm my belongings. I hope this helped.

Long-distance move from Beacon Falls, CT to Charlotte, NC

Elite Movers.

We used Elite to help us pack our condo in Connecticut into our moving POD. They arrived on time, worked hard and they were able to pack every last item from the condo into the POD.

We settled temporarily in Charlotte and needed Elite movers help us with our move to Myrtle Beach. Once again they arrived on time to our POD location in Charlotte and unpacked the POD into our Uhaul truck, they then followed us to our apartment in Charlotte to pack remaining items into the truck.

Once in Myrtle Beach we hired Elite moving to help us unpack the Uhaul truck into our new house. They were on time and unpacked the truck in record time.

Would highly recommend Elite, every State that we used them in resulted in the same high standards.

Out in Space.

I saved money by not using Elite (but not headaches).  I am not sure if Elite is a scam company that takes advantage of people, or if they (manager Roy) is just ignorant, or both; you can decide by reading below.

Elite charges by the volume (cubic feet) of your materials.  One would figure that would be fairly easy to calculate out, and that it would be close to the internet estimate (which is based on national moving averages of each type of box, furniture, etc.).  The first thing the driver did is take me into the back of the empty truck and show me where he calculated my space to be.  I don't deal with this on a regular basis, so I assumed he was correct (DO NOT MAKE THIS ASSUMPTION!).  The amount of space looked small to me.  The driver explained I had roughly 2.5 "lines" and placed a piece of tape there. Here, the definition of a "line" is the distance between vertical supports, so counting out from the front of the truck, I had 2.5 supports of space to use from top of trailer to bottom. When the driver looked at our apartment, he felt that there was a substantial amount of material present than was on the estimate.  We began measuring things out, such as a desk with a hutch (that was on the estimate).

Due to the discrepancy, the manager Roy had to call us.  Roy informed us that the driver was estimating 3X the estimate. Roy used the desk w/hutch as an example, even though it was on the estimate. Based on my calculations (I perform area/volume calculations as part of my normal job on a routine basis), the desk and hutch did take up substantial space, yet not out of the realm of the estimate, especially considering the desk base only took up 1/3 of the volume, meaning the other 2/3 could be packed under/around.  In explaining the desk/hutch to Roy, he argured that most of this space would be lost in wrapping the desk in protective wrap.  The driver had also told me our queen size matress and box springs would alone take up about 90-100 cubic feet each.  He later retracted that after we measured and they were found to be 35 cubic feet each.

After a lot of arguing with Roy, we still agreed that if we could monitor the packing, we would proceed, as long as everyone could agree on the amount of space we needed. Again, the term "line" was in play.  Both the driver and Roy continued to use this term, but how can I tell if it is accurate or not?  I decide to measure the trailer..how else can I account for the cubic feet being correct!!  Based on the width and height of the truck, we came up with approximately 70 square feet per lineal foot of floor.  Based on these measurements, the driver was short 11" (or just over 60 cubic feet) in where he was trying to tell my my space was!!  At around $4/cubic foot, that equates to $250 extra for them right there!!

And, in measuring the "lines", "Line 1" was 9" in length, "Line 2" was 22" in length, and the remaining "lines" were approximately 24" each.  So, if I went by the drivers estimate, I would have been short on the first two lines and charged excessively for space that simply was not there!!

Here's your chance to make a decision:  Roy began pressuring us that he had to call his crew off back during the hutch measuring.  Once we all agreed that we would still use the service once we agreed on where my volume was at, it seemed everything was a go and even the driver wanted to know.  However, once Roy heard that I was measuring the "lines", he immediately pressured us to sign or his crew had to leave.  Roy kept arguing that we could not come into agreement and would not give us the paperwork to sign..he actually had the driver keep it from my wife who was begging to read and sign it while I took measurements so as not to hold anything up any longer.  Roy told his crew not to load us, and cancelled the contract..he was unwilling to reschedule.  They wanted me off the truck right away.

It is true that the truck showed up about 6:30 P.M. (during scheduled window of 5-7) and that the crew probably needed to get some rest for the following day, so I can understand a bit of the pressure from Roy, and that we had been arguing for probably an hour, trying to come to a conclusion (Roy was unwilling to bend on price, or anything else for that matter). However, only 5-10 minutes after we all agreed we would verify my space on the truck and watch them pack it, Roy pulled the plug and could not be persuaded to have his crew stay and do the job, nor could he be persuaded that the "lines" on the truck actually are not the same measurement.  Does he know better or not?  For that matter, does Elite know better or not?      .

Watch for hidden fees.

When I called to inquire about my move, I had informed the sales rep that I was also getting quotes from other movers. He immediately told me to stay away from moving companies in Florida because "they are brokerage firms, not actual employees" He also stated their ( the brokers)strategy is to low ball the quote then charge you heavy on the back end before they unload my contents. We went over the items to be moved and I was given a quote. I asked about hidden charges or what "extra" expenses I could receive and I was told there would not be any. I then had to provide my credit card info to receive the contract. I was told the credit card info was only on hold and would not be charged until I returned the contract. WRONG! The same day, Elite charged my credit card. When I did receive the contract the "hidden" charges were made exactly that hidden. Things like "packaging" , "A flight of stairs is only 7 stairs high", "repacking if customer packed wrong" these were all at the discrepency of the movers. I have yet to receive my refund, which I immediately demanded when I cancelled the order. Beware, you are at the movers mercy, don't fall for the "you pay half up front and balance at the drop off site" because you have no way of knowing what that price will be and if you don't pay, they don't unload.

Not doing what was contracted for.

Everything was picked up and delivered to florida. When the furniture was delivered the movers refused to take a desk upstairs. Why hire movers who would not do what they were paid to do? The company has not returned any of my calls that I have placed. The bottom shelf of the desk, the ONLY item that needed to be taken to the second floor of our home, was broken. Could that be why they wouldn't move it?

Horrible.

I was promised that the move would be 10 to 14 business days and it took them a month and a half. They even had to outsource another company to deliver my goods.. Would not work with me to deal with unsatisfied customer, and how would not return calls. I would never use them again, bc they only want the money. They even told me they don't have insurance and I have to purchase thru website. Total scam. If you want details of my horrible experience please is be happy to share bc this could be a book. Horrible.

When I orginally called in the customer service received was great and the price quote receive was well so I paid the downpayment to secure the movers for 11/30/11. When they arrived it was on time. It was never discussed or stated in my contract they you are to pay for the service once they unload from the original destination. So I paid because I have not other choice. Then when I mad it to the final location and unwrapping my furniture I found scratches to my loveseat, table and couch. Now after unpacking fully some of my items are missing. Now that I've tried contacting them regarding this matter they are unavailable to speak with me and I am placed into a voicemail without receiving a return call. So no I would not and will not recommend anyone to use this company.

Long-distance move from Indiana to Arizona

Dishonest.

I contracted my move with The Moving Experts but Elite Moving & Storage showed up to pick up my belongings. Even though I was told by their sales rep, Mary, that the Moving Experts hire their own drivers and movers-this is not true or at least they call themselves by a different company name. After using them, it's probably so you when you do a background check, your not getting information the company that they are actually sending to pick up your belongings. After it was over and I tried to file for the lost property, my insurance company found bad reports on these guys on ripoff.com, but I had no idea since I thought I was getting The Moving Experts. I thought I was getting a big Semi heading straight to Arizona with my property but instead I got a box truck from a different company. Then they took it and unloaded it God knows where until they had enough stuff to fill a Semi. Which means your belongings get tossed around multiple times and stored wherever for the next week or two. Then when it was delivered the driver refused to go through and check off the inventory as it was unloaded-it will take too much time he said. So after unpacking all the boxes, it just so happens that the boxes containing all my DVD's, CD's and VHS tapes are missing. Gee I wonder why those boxes just happened to disappear? Lesson learned-never write what's in the boxes. Number your boxes and keep a list so you'll know but the movers don't! Because they rolled my furniture from end to end, all my wooden furniture has dents and dings. They especially did a number on my antique bedroom furniture. Even though it was documented on the inventory list, they are now refusing to pay for what it cost me to have it fixed. They bent the front forks and brake assembly on my 1977 vintage Schwinn bicycle, but claim they can't see any damage on the pictures I took, so their not going to pay for the repairs on that either. Doesn't matter, the bike shop told me it would never be the same anyway. So go with the big name boys-Mayflower, American Van Lines, you'll pay more, but then you get what you pay for!

Long-distance move from Texas to Massachusetts

Terribly disappointed.

I have never written a negative review before, however, I was so grossly disappointed by Elite Moving and Storage that I feel the need to notify others. I know how stressful a move is-choosing the wrong moving company can make the move a nightmare.

I used Elite Moving and Storage when I moved from NH to Texas in May of 2009. I had a wonderful experience with them so when I decided to relocate back to New England, it only made sense to contact them for the move.

Unfortunately, this time around, I had an absolutely horrible experience and I was so disappointed and would never recommend them to anyone. Danielle was very difficult to get ahold of on the phone once they had my initial deposit. She told me the move would take 4-7 days..I didn't receive my belongings for 22 days!!

As I was awaiting the arrival of my things-they wouldn't return my calls and when I would get someone on the phone, they acted like I was putting them out when I wanted an update about my belongings-that I was paying them a lot of money to move. It was completely unacceptable and honestly the worst customer service I ever received. I understand they move people everyday..but I don't move everyday. It's a big deal to me and for them to act like it didn't matter was awful.
They ended up bringing my things from Texas to Chicago and placing them in storage even though I was assured that my belongings would not be taken off truck and placed in storage. I specifically didn't want this because I knew the more the boxes/furniture was moved-the more likely it would be damaged. Sure enough, most of my boxes arrived beat up, my new front loading washing machine was dented on 3 sides and broken as well as all my dishes arrived broken. I packed my dishes, they did not, but I packed them very well and marked fragile all over the boxes. This didn't matter because it was obvious they threw them around and stacked heavy objects on-top of them.

To be fair and credit Elite for something, I thought their actual movers were professional, respectful and friendly. I had different movers on each end of the move. I believe english was their second language so I did find it rather difficult to communicate or understand what they would say. They charge $4.00 per roll of tape (to wrap all furniture etc) and everything must be in a box-everything. If it's not, they will charge you to use a box of theirs and a box price ranges from $10.00-$50.00.

Overall, pllease listen to my advice and choose another moving company. I would pay double or triple what I paid elite for better service and to avoid what I went through. I literally went through hell waiting on them to deliver, it was honestly the most stressful move I've ever made. Never again would I even consider this company and you shouldn't either.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Indiana

My household is still not there.

The seller was very adamant is showing me how great they were and how no complains have been posted to the BBB. She failed to mention they have NUMEROUS complains with the US Department of Transportation.

The pick-up was uneventful, eventhough I should have been a little suspicious when they showed up in a truck with a paper wign taped to the side!!

The foreman told me to contact them 2 weeks prior to my delivery date to make sure everything was in order and that that way I was going to have my household in Indianawhen I needed it.

I signed papers (you know, sign here and here, when you are exhausted and not paying attention) and what they are making you sign is a disclaimer that they are not responsible for anything!!

The date you give them for delivery is actually a time-reference as they can take up to 30 BUSINESS days to deliver your goods (but NO-ONE tells you that when they are sweetening you up to pay more than for the other movers because they are soo "professional" (Ha!)

They do not respond by phone or email and we are on day 14 after "my scheduled delivery date", I'm renting an empty house, had to buy a news bed and a table as not to eat and sleep on the floor and these people do not have a clue as to when they will deliver my goods.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM PLEASE!!

You get what you pay for.

I hired them to move us 2 streets over. On the phone, Donna, was very polite and professional. The price was very reasonable. Two weeks later we got a call confirming us for the wrong date to move which was concerning. Then we never got another call to confirm for the right one, so I called. They showed up late due to traffic, but we are in Los Angeles and would expect them to account for that. They were very nice. We went over paper work and basically, they have you sign off on everything, they are not responsible! Then when they started to load the truck, they have YOU take all glass doors off of things and say YOU should move them. Also all your pictures and anything else they would have to be careful with. During the unloading, I had to tell them multiple times to take boxes upstairs that were clearly marked. I finally had to take a bunch up myself. When they set the beds up, they got black hand prints all over our brand new mattresses and I had to pay to get them steamed cleaned after. They left behind 10 car loads full of stuff at the old address and banged up a lot of our things. But as I stated, they are NOT responsible. I didn't want to call and complain for that reason, but a month later I was making the bed and saw black that the steam cleaners missed, so I called. I never heard back from anyone. Spend more money and get someone that will be more careful and actually move EVERYTHING.  .

Hire at Your Own RISK..STAY AWAY and RUN.

WARNING - Elite Moving & Storage - WARNING - MUST READ - RUN THE OTHER WAY

I only wish I would have looked for another moving company.  Might I suggest investigating with whom you are associated.  Read all the review on this company as there are several out there, and most recently they are not good to put it mildly.

This company may be in violation of Fair and Ethical business practices, the Labor Law federal and State, Better Business and many more.  Perhaps, prior to publicly supporting or endorsing them a little investigative work is needed.

WARNING - Elite Moving & Storage - WARNING - MUST READ - RUN THE OTHER WAY

Our moving company,  Elite Moving & Storage exaggerated their billing hours, failed to notify us of the packing materials form (no wonder they used shrink-wrap), damaged several pieces of our furniture, broke several glass items (glasses from our wedding, martini glasses that I've had for 12 years, 3 vases, juice cups, one crystal bowl) destroyed our TV stand (as all 4 legs were ripped off, the screws pulled right out of the sockets), did not reassemble multiple items that they moved (just found out that one as my large oak computer desk fell over on top of me last night), and not least of all damaged our new home.  They left stains on the carpeting, gouges in the wood flooring, ripped the carpet from the seems that had just been stretched by the Seller of our home (less than 6 months ago), damaged the walls (in some places past the dry-walling, scratched our oak kitchen cabinets), and the list continues.

Being a mother to two infants under 2 is hard enough, now when I am still unpacking I continue to find more broken and damaged items..it never ends.  I am left sitting on floor picking broken glass out of boxes, walking around the destroyed items as it is still in the shrink-wrap they placed it in.  It took me FIVE emails asking the owner of this company for permission to move the damaged items from the common area of our home due to the safety hazard to my children, they FINALLY responded.  So much for there care and concern and mission statement that they are all for Customer Satisfaction.     That's the funny part is they didn't even bother to use padding on a lot of items (hmmm, wonder how they got damaged?)  I wish we would have had a team to monitor them so we could have prevented all this from happening.  See, we moved from a high-rise condo, so monitoring all three movers at this time time proved rather difficult.

There is no telling what the amount will be to all the items damaged, lost (because the inventory sheets are not accurate), destroyed.  Not to mentioned that on their Inventory sheet it listed how many stickers they used as we placed our items in storage first and then they were moved to our new home AND GUESS WHAT, not all the items they listed on our inventory sheet have been accounted for, so who knows what I am missing.

I have attempted to resolve this situation with the company, but everyone that I dealt with failed to listen from the dispatcher (Marie), to Sales Rep (Ben) to the Owner (Ira), who was not even reading the emails that I was sending.
They are stating because my husband signed that it's over with.  BUT as far as I am concern they breached their own contract therefore making our signature null and void.

To ALL this is a WARNING - STAY AWAY FROM ELITE MOVING & STORAGE.

I have documentation and independent witnesses that I can provide along with a trail of emails and phone records.  anyone want photos?

WORST Experience with a Co. EVER.

This has been, hands-down, the worst experience I’ve had ANY company, let alone a moving company.  Customer service is a joke – the people were so incredibly rude they sent me into tears TWICE (and I’m not an emotional person). I rarely write yelp reviews but I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have gone through with this company. They will sell you on the first phone call, about their great rating on BBB (which companies can buy, by the way). Lowdown: My stuff was in a storage unit in CA & I needed to get it to OR. I was back in OR and couldn’t fly down to meet the movers at storage unit so Beau said as long as the on-site manager at the storage unit is a ‘friend’ (wink-wink), it would be totally fine for me to do a POA (Power of Attorney) with the guy’s name on it. So I did all that, and faxed it over. They were originally supposed to pick up my stuff on 6/26. Then the DAY BEFORE I get a phone call from some manager mad at ME because I didn’t know the last name of the on-site manager, so he figured out that he wasn’t a friend, and he was annoyed with ME because it has to be a good friend who meets your stuff on the day. I literally got LECTURED by this guy about how could I be so naïve as to be okay with having some storage guy be on the POA. I panicked and had to print out new POA, and convince my boyfriend to FLY DOWN to California to meet their movers 5 days later, Tuesday 6/30 or Wed 7/1. I said my boyfriend would need 45 minute heads up to get from LA to Gardena to meet their movers. The LA on-site storage guys said they needed 24 hours notice so my stuff could be transferred from the vault and waiting on the dock for Elite. Less than 24 hours now, no word from Elite, storage guys tell me I’m sorry but now your window has narrowed from 10-4 to 12-3pm because we haven’t heard from Elite. Some back and forth (more panicked phone calls to Elite asking WHY THEY HAVENT DEALT WITH THIS YET), and Beau from Elite finally agrees to 12-3pm on 7/1. That morning at 10:15 AM I get a phone call from the mover guy Sam who is at the storage unit wondering why my boyfriend isn’t there. I haven’t heard a word from Elite. I say a) you guys were told to be there btwn 12-3 and b) you guys didn’t call and let me know you were on the way, so now my boyfriend is 45 minutes out. Next thing you know ROY calls. Roy is really the reason I am even writing this review in the first place. He is awful (ie “Okay I’m going to explain this to you for the FOURTH TIME” etc) and shouldn’t be working anywhere that requires his interaction with a customer. He started yelling at me saying the movers were there and not going to wait, and I’m like “Excuse me but Beau confirmed yesterday afternoon the 12-3 pickup time. It was Elite’s fault for not getting back to storage unit with 24 hours notice, otherwise you COULD HAVE had the 10-4pm longer window.” He starts saying they NEVER would have confirmed 12-3pm ….and this is my favorite part of the story. They record phone calls. Well this [EDIT] Roy PLAYS THE PHONE CALL from the day before – thinking he is going to prove me wrong, and lo and behold – on the recording the woman from Elite is on the phone with my storage company and says “Yes fine we can be there between 12-3.” Yay me! So now he HAS to do what their lame company agreed to, and says “Call your boyfriend right now, I am setting the clock for 45 minutes RIGHT NOW and if he’s not there in 45 minutes I can’t promise the movers will stay. That stuff better be ready to load onto the truck at NOON.) I, at this point, am basically crying because a) this is none of my fault and b) I’ve never been spoken to like this in my life. Now, my boyfriend makes it in time, everything gets onto the truck, and then my bf says “they made me give them close to $900 – you didn’t say they were going to need money." I'm running out of room so now let me just say - my stuff was delivered 8/3/15. (33 DAYS AFTER PICKUP). And much of my stuff was damaged, the movers scratched my floors, dinged my ceilings, did NOT give us the required 24 hours notice that they were arriving so we were scrambling on a work day to have someone at the house. On the day they demanded an extra $110 for a set of stairs that Elite had already known about. Now on to the fun stuff – the DAMAGE. The movers broke: a glass panel on a china cabinet, there was a lot of broken glass stuff because they squished a box that said FRAGILE, wood was dinged, my floors were scratched from them dragging a very heavy item, a piece of art was broken… and my favorite – some poor soul is sans multiple photo albums and a piece of china bc they zipped it into one of my suitcases. It’s not even mine! The movers tried to leave without putting a basic bed together and I made them and they knicked the ceiling in multiple places. Anyway, NEVER, NEVER use this company. They are terrible. Now I have to spend hours documenting the damage to try to get compensated. AWFUL. I hope they go out of business.

Long-distance move from California to Illinois

The worst.

Awful. Just awful. The quote they gave me over the phone was radically lower than what I actually ended up paying, the movers took forever to move my barely one bedroom apartment, and they provide zero updates until your stuff is one day out. Of course, the 5-10 business day time window they give isn't even accurate, and I still haven't received my furniture. I tried to call and they refused to give me any more information about my status. I will NEVER use this company again and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Do Not Use This Company!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE SHADY AND CROOKED!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. Worst moving experience I have ever had the displeasure being a part of. They give you what I suspect is a purposefully low balled estimate to hook you, tell you it'll be 7-14 days after they pick it up, send you a 25 page contract so that they know you for sure won't read every last detail, charge you almost 200% of the estimate, sassily tell you that you should have read the contract more carefully because it's 7-14 business days from the first day of available drop off (even though you called and they said it would "for sure" be there by a specific date that was within the original 7-14 days from pick-up), lie to you and tell you it will leave Chicago on Tuesday, tell you on Tuesday (after you call them, not them call you) that it actually isn't leaving until the weekend and they can't tell you a specific day of the weekend, when the weekend ends and you call them (again, they're not about to call you) they let you know it's not actually leaving until Wednesday, then going to spend apparently 3-7 days in Georgia before it finally gets to you 1 ENTIRE MONTH after pick up. By the way, that's after the contracted 7-14 "business days" and has caused us to use more money replacing things on that truck than we saved by not going with a reputable business. AGAIN, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE SHADY AND CROOKED!!

Long-distance move from Waukesha, WI to San Jose, CA

Beware of Elite Movers and Packers.

We have used the services of Elite Movers and Packers while shifting our household goods from Wisconsin to California. The quote was quite low initially and it was increased to almost $600 by the time they did the delivery at our new house in California. However, their delivery was very bad as they mishandled our SMART TV and we received it in broken condition even though the TV was packed in its original package. The TV was quite expensive and it took 6 months for them to repay only 68% of the cost after multiple emails and phone calls from our side.
They even mishandled our kid`s favourite bike and we received it in bad condition as well. They did not paid any compensation for the bicycle though as we noticed the problem after lodging the compalints about our TV.
In addition, their customer department was pathetic. They were very prompt till the time the payment was not completed from our side. However, when we complain about their delivery and handling issues, the executive simply forward the issue to their insurance department and the insurance department paid only $45 initially after 3 months of calls and emails. We were quite shocked and decline that compensation. Again after multiple rounds of email and calls, they finally paid 68% of the price of the TV and it took nearly 6 months for them to do so.

I find the dispatch and the insurance team of Elite Movers and Packers quite unprofessional and would never ever going to use their service.
If you are going to use their service, do it at your own risk.

Long-distance move from Miamisburg, OH to Tampa, FL

Disgusted!! Pathetic movers!

Having a horrible time with them! I seriously got carried away by the reviews. Scheduled move from Miamisburg, OH to Tampa, FL. Goods picked up on May 17th, and it's June 17th now and I still don't have an update when the truck will be loaded for delivery.
Worst part is until last week they kept saying didn't find a Trucker. Wow, a company who boasts them self fast n reliable couldn't find a truck to Tampa for a month. The 14 BUSINESS days window ended long back n still no updates. And to top it all the representative at Dispatch is very rude as if I'm having her goods. I've already paid 50% n wondering when my goods will be delivered.
I don't reciceve any updates until I call; they keep saying will call back but never do.
I've never written such a big review but now checking all possible sites to write abt these Movers.
I even posted a review on Elitemovers site but it doesn't show up.
Regret I shuldn have chosen these guys.
